How and where can you exercise your passenger rights?
There are several options here.
How to claim compensation
Consumers do not always need the help of a lawyer or a commercial passenger helper to enforce their passenger rights to delay, late flight and denied boarding compensation for overbooking. Completing an online complaint form on the airline’s website is often enough to make it pay.
Online complaint via the airline website
It is convenient for passengers to be able to claim compensation online. This is especially useful when the airline is based abroad. The following are some airlines where claims under the European Passenger Rights Regulation can be made online:
- Lufthansa: Online application (category “flight irregularities”)
- Eurowings: online application
- Easyjet: online application
- Tuifly: online application
- Condor: Online application
- Ryanair: Online application
- Air France: Online application
- KLM: Online application
- TAP Air Portugal: Online application (menu item “Complaints”)
Compensation services
There are also some different compensation services that help you make your claims.
Passengers who do not want to have a job and are willing to pay between 20 and 50 percent of their compensation can call on a passenger compensation service. If necessary, the service even sues in court. Passenger rights portals reduce compensation for success by their commission. Immediate compensaters pay out money equally, reduced by their commission.
